REFLECTIONS ARE WONDERFUL
We anchored near Boca Raton, FL on our way to Ft. Lauderdale this week. This picture was just a spur of the moment capture. The boat was swinging back and forth and voila the reflection shot was captured.
We are downtown on the New River Ft. Lauderdale. The internet is so unexpectently slow! We can have internet miles off shore on our way to Bimini but in the heart of a city our T-Mobile is not great!
When we got settled in the municipal marina here, some large creatures stood guard. I actually could not leave the boat! This is about 3 feet long not including his tail! Then he climbs the tree after the females and the branches overhang our boat. I was so afraid that this guy would fall right on our deck or the female which is large in itself.

TIGHT QUARTERS
Last year on day one after we left Florida for Bimini our chart plotter went to a black screen and was very hard to see. Today we found Max Marine Electronic in Pompano Beach to fix it, about 1 1/2 hour drive away. However, now to get that thing off! Needless to say the cookies over Christmas did not help me squeeze through the opening. I squeeze through the opening of 14 in high and 13 in wide. I had a light on my forehead and small tools to get the screws/washers etc off. Paul had to pass me things but in the end he joined me inside! We worked together.
Notice the small door on bottom right, it closed tight on me! But not locked.
Lots of air and light when the chart plotter got removed. Fixed in one day, it is back on. Paul is so happy to make use of the big screen this year.
Off to Florida Keys area on Thursday to spend 2 weeks. We will get our provisions tomorrow.
Interested clouds a couple of nights ago.

RAY LEFT ITS MARK!
A ray must have been super cozy in the sand before low tide came along. This ray left its mark shortly after we walked the beach and saw it. So unique.
Went out for lunch today at a tiki bar! Loved all the stuff on the walls and ceilings. Only place I have seen a moose next to a Mahi Mahi on the wall!
Paul had to take a picture of this! So funny. We had a good lunch out.

WE ARE OUR OWN ISLAND
This is our view late afternoon. We love our small, friendly marina but nothing and I mean NOTHING beats anchoring out where one can sun, swim and our own boat is its own island. We left our marina this morning and travelled 2 hours south to Jupiter, Florida area. A small sandbar nearby. We have not anchored out since the end of boating season last April. What a wonderful feeling, testing the motors, anchors, horn, generator etc. Windows and ports are open and the air is flowing in. Our dinghy came off the flybridge and we motored around for an hour and looked at the beautiful homes (and elaborate landscaping) from the waterway (ICW).
It is hard to believe last week I was building a snowman with our grandchildren and now we are enjoying the Florida sunshine.
